Jeremy at school

This is a video of Jeremy at school, we were trying to get some to show our Pediatrician, Dr. Cyrus so he could see how Jeremy's medicine were working. It's easier than trying to describe the situation. This video Jeremy was suppose to find the number of items and push the button on the device but he wasn't wanting to do the task. He was trying to keep himself busy and move around and not do the task that was requested of him. Dr. Cyrus summed it up and said, "Jeremy will do what Jeremy is determined to do" and we have seen this throughout Jeremy's life. Jeremy has had a really good year, made some good progress. Enjoy J in action....

I be back....

Jeremy had speech today, he did fairly well at first really focusing and staying on task but then the attention got very dim and we went outside. There were several times today that he would say, "I be back", it was all ran into together but we knew what he was saying. He goes tomorrow to check our medicine change with Dr. Cyrus. Jeremy has been doing really well at school and has about a month left of this year and then move on to summer. He will have a month of Extended School year, and then 2weeks of autism camp or 2 weeks of Kid's hideout.

We are having typical spring weather for Oklahoma, rain and storms, but the weather has been really nice. I love spring.

Pigs in Muck

Jeremy's teacher sent me these pictures yesterday and said, that they read the story Pigs in Muck and then made "mud" w/ chocolate pudding and crushed oreos. This is what Jeremy helped me make for Easter dinner I call it dirt cake. These pictures were so darn adorable and I couldn't resist. Jeremy really seemed to enjoy wearing the pig nose....

Major brag moment....

We decided that Friday evening Matt was coming over to do some "behavior" therapy, so Matt didn't believe how crazy Jeremy went when we would go down the doll isle. I told him let's go to Wal-mart and we will call that therapy so off we went. I have this little boy in the hospital that I wanted to take an Easter basket to so I told Jeremy to help me pick out a basket for this little boy, Jeremy did fairly well and we did decide on one with a truck. Then we started back toward the toy isle, we cruised several of them, Jeremy found several balls that he wanted. Then we finally cruise the doll isle and Jeremy's whole entire outlook changes it's like he couldn't control himself and had to touch every doll, and started jabbering up a storm. Matt looked at me and said, "wow". Jeremy did very well with Matt's request that he can only get down and look at one doll at a time, then when it was time to leave my son did exactly what Matt said. I was so proud of him.

Jeremy helped dye eggs for the first time, I found a spin egg dye kit and he loves to watch things spin so he did some of the eggs and then I started making my dirt cake and he decided that mom really needed his help especially with turning on the blender when I didn't need it and slinging chocolate pudding everywhere.

I got no pictures each time I get the camera Jeremy sees me and he wants the camera and quits performing.

Jeremy has been doing really good with these verbal commands, following directions. I am so proud of his progress he's been making. We had his next year's IEP meeting and I'm excited about the goals his teacher is setting for him, Jeremy will attend ESY this summer.

Happy Easter !!!!!

We had a family in our church this morning that sang this song, part of the chorus was, "it should have been my nails, should have been my crown", GOD loved us so much that he took our place on the cross. I look at Jeremy and think how much I LOVE him and can't imagine my life without him but to think that GOD loves us even more beyond what I can even comprehend.

After church, Jeremy and I went out to my parents house and had a big family dinner. We had a little break in the rain so my sisters and brother hid the eggs and the children hunted them, Jeremy even enjoyed the finding of eggs and found 3.

"For I know the plans I have for you", says the Lord....

Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the LORD", plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. When Jeremy attended Happy Hands and we would have our yearly goal setting, the teachers were required to find a scripture that pertained to each child and Jeremy's teacher put Jeremiah 29:11 on his plan one year and it brought tears to my eyes.

It doesn't matter if I'm talking about Jeremy, another child, me, you it all boils down to GOD has a plan for our life and we all have a purpose.

We had our yearly follow-up yesterday with Jeremy's Pediatric Neurologist, Dr. David Sielger and each year he says, "I'm not doing anything for Jeremy, he's doing great, not having seizures, no medicine for seizures". We see many of our physicians yearly just for updates. You look at Jeremy and most children who have the neurological deficient as him, have seizures. He's missing his corpus callosum, has a shunt on the left side, scar tissue on the right side from the 2 shunts being placed, 1 of them being removed, an arachnoid cyst in the front lobe all of which causes disruption in the pathway of the brain waves.

I hope to be able to post some good Easter pictures next week.
